Las Olas Estepona New Development

Prices from €235,000 to €402,000
2 and 3 Bedroom Contemporary Apartments
LOCATION – ESTEPONA
Completion – 1st Quarter 2020

With an ever-growing choice of off-plan, contemporary apartments, and in all price brackets available, it is becoming the location of the development that is important, rather than the quality and appearance of the actual apartment.

Las Olas Estepona is one of the least expensive new developments in Estepona where you can buy sleek and clean units so we went along to have a look at the site and its location.

Las Olas Apartments and Penthouses

You can choose the flooring throughout, porcelain or wood laminate, a choice of colours for the ensuite bathrooms and wardrobes, floor to ceiling windows along with all the usual suspects such as fully fitted open plan kitchen, hot and cold air conditioning (yes, we need some heating in depths of winter) and the all-important underground parking spot for your rented Ferrari. Doubtless, they will be comfortable and doubtless when you are sitting on your solarium, or in your private ground floor garden sipping the latest Rioja from the supermarket (trying to get comfortable when you realize that you missed a spot with the sun cream), you will be happy and content.

New property Estepona

With just 48 apartments, Las Olas in Estepona will be a nice community with tropical gardens, nice swimming pool, and an outdoor fitness area and will be easy to keep in great condition.

But with an ever-increasing choice of contemporary apartments to choose from inside the same price bracket, how does Las Olas stand out from the crowd?

Las Olas Estepona - The area

Marbella and Puerto Banus have for many years been the draw of the Costa del Sol and they still are today but Estepona is quietly and quickly gaining momentum.

There are all sort of statistics that people can, and will, throw at you to show how tourism in Estepona is on the up, but all that pales in comparison when I tell you that Estepona has been selected to be on the Spanish Monopoly board, and for the English amongst you, it has been selected to take the spot normally reserved for Mayfair...how’s that for a poke in the eye for the famous neighbours!

If you stick to the speed limit (which is not very fast) and start from the Estepona Marina you will be in the Las Olas development in a little over five minutes.

New Development Estepona Las Olas

In the immediate area of the resort, all of which are literally 2 or 3 minutes with a gentle stroll, you will find a couple of supermarkets, petrol station (handy if you are walking), a fast food joint and a few vacant plots that will no doubt soon be constructing other commercial premises.

There are a few nice restaurants within walking distance if you cant get a ´designated driver´ but to be honest, the port and old town of Estepona is probably less than a €15 taxi drive away and on a balmy summer evening the walk to the port is easy and pleasant.

Whether you are walking along the beach or taking the nicely paved pedestrian route along the tree-lined road, the journey is less than four kilometers (which in real terms is less than 40 minutes). The only hilly bit is crossing the road on the pedestrian bridge.

Estepona Las Olas Area

The nearest beach is pretty nice which is right in front of the nearby Gran Elba Spa Hotel (a five-star offering with Thalasso therapy treatments). The beach is less than 700 meters away and in flip-flops can be reached in 6 or 7 minutes. Not too far to carry a few bags, a parasol, and a cooler box.

Probably the nicest beach is Cristo beach that is two-thirds of the way to Estepona port. A lovely sheltered place with a selection of really nice beach bars and restaurants. It can get a bit busy in the summer, as it shallow and warm (ideal for kids) but as with most of the coast it soon spreads to the open beaches and there is always plenty of room for everyone.

Adjacent to the development by a few hundred meters is a school, but don’t panic! The schools in Spain close for three months over the summer and even if they are open, the kids are only released from their cages for a few minutes a few times per day.

About 500 meters west of the development, a brand new hospital is being built. It will be barely noticeable and of course, will be extremely handy should something unexpected or untoward happen whilst you are on holiday.

From Malaga airport, taking the fastest route along the toll road, and sticking to the speed limit, you can be parking your car in 60-70 minutes. It’s a journey that you only take once, in the beginning, and once at the end so it really is not a big drive. It is an easy route but for the more adventurous amongst you can take the A7 coast road that drives along the coastline passing all the small towns and villages on the coast.
It’s a bit more interesting, but there is lot more traffic but you can save a bit of cash, as there is no toll to pay. Las Olas has the advantage of being closer to Gibraltar airport, which, if you can get decent flights, can be reached in 30 minutes traffic permitting.Marbella town centre is 25 minutes by car and Puerto Banus can be reached in less than 20 minutes.
